Spring Budget 2023: Hunt goes for growth

Chancellor of the Exchequer Jeremy Hunt today gave his first Budget speech to the House of Commons. Hunt, who only a few years ago was cast out into the wilderness of the backbenches after being defeated by Boris Johnson to become the next leader of the Conservative Party, sought to further steady the ship that is the UK economy by focusing his speech around three of Prime Minister Rishi Sunak’s five key priorities: halving inflation, reducing the deficit and, most importantly, growing the economy.
